Sheila Kendrick



Married to Tim Kendrick for 35 years. I have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. I work for UMB Bank, currently Macon Atlanta State Bank for 23 years. I had worked at the Monroe City Manor as an aide in the late 70's and early 80's. My mother in law, Rita Jo Kendrick is currently a resident at the nursing home as well as friends. To quote Andy Rooney " I've learned that the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person."   576

Michelle Wilson



My name is Michelle (Long) Wilson and I have lived in Monroe City my entire life. My husband is David Wilson, and we own and operate Wilson Granite in Monroe City. We have three children and two of them are married. We have one adorable granddaughter. I am a board member of the Monroe City Senior Housing, member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and member of the Monroe City Chamber of Commerce. I enjoy camping, gardening, reading, cooking and travel. One of my first jobs after college was working as an LPN at Monroe City Manor, and I enjoyed the time with the residents. Family, Faith, & Friends are important to me, and I would like to be a voice for the residents’ care at Monroe City Manor Care Center.   580

Nancy Voepel



Married to Larry Voepel for 50 years. We have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. Both grandchildren are in college. I am retired and have been a member of the Monroe City Manor Auxiliary for 17 years. With belonging to the Auxiliary I have enjoyed helping residents and visiting with them. I am a member of the Prairie View Baptist Church and we bring church services to the Manor every month. My mother was a resident at the Manor for 3 1/2 yrs. and my father-in-law for 4 yrs. The Manor is a home away from home for the residents. I am up for reelection because I care for the residents.   583

Marie Purol



My Name is Marie Purol. My husband Joe and I have been married for 45 years. We have owned and operate Purol Construction Company for 35 years.

I feel that Monroe City is a wonderful place to raise a family. To be part of a community that cares and works to help create a better life for our family and friends.

Over the last 35 years I have had many family and friends call the Monroe City Manor Care Center home.
I am a member of the Monroe City Manor Care Center Auxiliary and have ministered communion to our Catholic residents for the last 8 years.

It has been a pleasure to give back to these wonderful people and have the opportunity to visit with other residents at the Manor.
Serving on the board the last 3 years, I have come to appreciate the wonderful administration and staff at the Monroe City Manor Care Center.

We have a lot to be proud of. The well being-happiness and the continued contribution they give to us is a wonderful thing to be a part of.

The board will do our best to continue to move forward in the care of our residents. I would be happy to continue serving on this board.

Mark Leake



I am a native of Ralls County and a graduate from Monroe City High School. My professional career has been rewarding and impressive in the areas of Project Management, 30 years-experience in Executive Leadership, a Certified Green Belt in Lean Manufacturing for 20 plus years; I taught business classes at the collegiate level for 8 years; I also served on the Board Of Directors at Truman State University, School of Business for several years. I was appointed by the Governor of Missouri to Co-Chair the Highway 63-ByPass in Northeast Missouri. Julie Spalding Leake and I were foster care parents for 18 years in Adair County, we had 53 children that we mentored in 18 years. I was also a Rotarian for 7 years.

Connie Painter



My name is Connie Painter 60 years young and married to my husband David for 41 years. We have four children and two grandchildren. I am a lifelong resident of Monroe City and attended Monroe City R-I Schools. I am currently serving as Ward 3 Alderman for the City of Monroe City, being an advocate for the community, listening to the needs and concerns of the people, making the best decisions to better establish the future of our town.

I retired from Monroe City Manor Care Center after 17 years of service as a CNA and Activity Director due to the health of my husband. One of the major roles at the Manor was being an advocate for the residents and improving the quality of life for each and every one of my residents. Working at the Manor was the most rewarding job I have ever had, knowing at the end of the day you brought a smile to someones face, listening to them tell their life stories and assisting with their activities of daily living.

A member of the Monroe City Chamber of Commerce where I have been the Parade Chairman for the Christmas and Fourth of July Parades for 20 years, and several other community events, also a member of the Monroe City Manor Auxiliary, City of Monroe City committees, Park Board, Public Safety and Administration.

My purpose for running for this position is to bring a wide range of hand-on experience and viewpoints in the best interest of the facility. Advocating for the residents and staff, supporting policy and procedures according to regulations to improve advancement for our facility and extended families. I will also have an open door policy for any questions or concerns. We have an excellent Team working at the manor and are blessed to have the facility in our community.
A big believer in being successful is the 3 C's, Compassion, Communication and Commonsense !
